CHARLES UNIVERSITY FACULTY OF HUMANITIES Department of Gender Studies Luna María Ziirsen-Aineto The Reconceptualization of Consent in Europe; a Feminist Discussion of the Limitations and Possibilities of Consent Laws in Scandinavia Diploma Thesis Supervisor: Dr. Ivy Helman, Ph.D Prague 2023 Abstract This research aims to investigate how the consent-based rape legislation of Denmark has been implemented and interpreted within court cases. Furthermore, this paper will shed a light on the complexities inherent to the process of consent negociation within sex, sexual assault and rape. The objective is to challenge the gender-neutral and neo-liberal perception of consent of Denmark, and in turn reveal and challenge the heteronormative structures that persist in our societal comprehension of gender, sex and sexualities. A further discussion will be had on the re-imagining of sex culture and in which ways consent proves to be a limited concept for envisioning an equal and feminist sex culture. A final point will be made regarding the other structural inequalities that are concealed due to the Danish approach to consent, and how this affects the court cases at hand. Sexual assaults on College Campuses: A Case Study of the University of Richmond

This work is a case study of sexual violence at the University of Richmond, which examines the major cases and changes that took place at the university in the period from 2011 to 2021. The topic of sexual violence on American campuses has received much attention prevention in 2011 and the increase in protests against sexual violence in 2017 led to greater public attention, during which students criticized universities for their inaction against perpetrators of sexual assault. In selected cases, this work points to the fact that the University of Richmond has faced several media-known cases of sexual harassment, which has forced it to take steps to increase the prevention of sexual violence on its campus. Furthermore, this study points to the limits of ethical research and restrictions that are associated with research on sexual harassment on American campuses. This made the possibility of agreeing research on campus more difficult and also pointed out that although university academics are aware that the data obtained by the questionnaire would be beneficial to the university, it is not possible for such research to be in charge as a primary research student.
The Influence of SASA Group on the Treatment and Integration of the Rape Trauma

This thesis Influence of SASA group on treatment and integration of rape trauma deals with specific contributions of self-help group seen from the viewpoint of its members as it brings healing to their experience with sexual abuse. The work can be helpful for people, who personally experienced sexual abuse or rape or other kinds of sexual assaults and also for people, who are dealing with such a victim personally or proffessionally. The goal of the thesis is to view the healing aspects of the SASA group contributing to recovery from rape - what specifially helps and thanks to what factors. It also shows what obstacles the group can bring about and how its members deal with a concept of 12 steps. Theoretical part explains basic terms and up-to-date situation in the matter. In a nutshell it shows posttraumatic experience of the rape victim in feelings, behavior and needs. It looks upon the trauma how it results in the mental state. Also it shows the self-help groups phenomenon and its role in the system of help as a complementary human care possiblity describing particularities of a specific spiritual self-help SASA group (Sexual Assault Survival Anonymous) based on 12 steps program inspired by Alcoholic Anonymous.
